The house from the Wilhelminian era is located on the outskirts of the city below the Sonnenweg. The pedestrian zone, the train station and the swimming pool are within walking distance. The Hambach Castle, the Wolfsburg, the Wei nbiet, the Klausenthal and many other destinations can be reached via beautiful hiking trails. Our holiday apartment Appolonia The approximately 50 square meter non-smoking apartment with its own entrance has a living room with TV, a bedroom, a kitchen with a dining area as well as shower and toilet. Holiday guests have a beautiful seating area in the front garden with a view over the city, the Haardt Mountains and into the Rhine plain available.
Who actually was Appolonia Our holiday apartment is named after Philippine Appolonia Sauter. As a benefactor of the city, she founded the Sauterstift in 1876. Sick people of all denominations were once taken in and cared for here. In her will, she left most of her assets to the city of Neustadt. She died in 1895. In 1889, the city council decided to name a street after her because of her many charitable deeds. “Alter Weg” and “Karlsberg zur Schiefbrücke” became today’s “Sauterstraße”.
