If you are looking for mountains with more of a challenge, Rondane is only an hour's drive away. Other nice day trips are Røros or a musk ox safari on Dovrefjell. In winter, Savalen is a great ski area with good opportunities for cross-country skiing and skiing. Here you can also go ice fishing and visit Santa's house.
